South Dublin County Partnership will be delivering a trade taster programme from the 15th of July until the 23rd of August 2019.
This programme supported by DCYA Youth Employment Initiative will focus on introducing young people to basic skills and competencies in plumbing and carpentry. The programme will support young people to
- Explore types of jobs in the construction sector
- Job searching skills
- CV preparation and interview skills
- Meet with local employers
Participants will be supported on a one to one basis to develop a personal action plan, identify learning needs and explore further education, training and job opportunities. Young people will be supported
The programme will include safe pass and manual handling training and PPE gear. While there is no payment for taking part in this programme there will be no cost to participants; breakfast and lunch will be provided and travel cards to support young peoples attendance, if required.
This initiative is aimed at young men and women aged 16 to 24 who are not in education, training or employment. There are 12 places on this programme and it will be delivered in SDCP centre in Mountain Park, Tallaght, Dublin 24.
