WorkAbility is a new employment service for people with disabilities to support them into employment, self-employment, or access training and upskilling opportunities.

WorkAbility aims to:

  1. Improve employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
  2. Engage and build capacity of community employers to support people with disabilities into employment and career progression.
  3. Create and maintain relationships with stakeholders, and bolster networking connections across services to suport people with disabilities.

WorkAbility is for people aged 16+, who self-identify as having a disability, and live in the South County Dublin area.

What the WorkAbility team can offer:

  • One-on-one mentoring and support.
  • Personal employment development plan tailored to the needs of the participant.
  • CV and cover letter writing workshops.
  • Career guidance.
  • Work experience placements.
  • Self-employment and entrepreneurship workshops.
  • Relevant certification opportunities e.g. Barista skills, Manual Handling, Fire Safety, Bookkeeping and more.
  • Support through the next steps of employment, further education and training opportunities.

Working with employers, the WorkAbility team aim to:

  • Build capacity of employers to recruit, retain and progress people with disabilities within their organisation.
  • Equip employers with disability awareness training and share new approaches to providing employment supports to people with disabilities.
  • Provide consistent support to employers, adding value through a richness of diversity and talent to your workforce.
  • Support champions of employment, diversity and inclusion.
